About the Opportunity

Identify Security is seeking an experienced Security Engineer with strong engineering and architecture capabilities to support complex enterprise technology and emerging AI initiatives.

This role requires someone who understands how applications, networks, cloud infrastructure, identity, APIs, and AI-enabled systems connect—and can translate that understanding into practical security decisions.

We are not looking for a traditional penetration tester or an AppSec specialist focused primarily on scanning and vulnerability management.

We need an engineer who can think architecturally, understand how systems are designed and integrated, identify security risks, and help drive solutions through implementation.

This is not primarily a software development role.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate enterprise application, cloud, infrastructure, and AI-enabled architectures.
• Understand how systems connect across networks, APIs, identity, middleware, and backend platforms.
• Identify architectural security gaps, trust boundaries, and integration risks.
• Determine where security controls belong and how they should be implemented.
• Apply engineering judgment to authentication, authorization, network connectivity, cloud security, and system integration.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and their security implications.
• Support security technology evaluations and proofs of value (PoVs), including recommendations and implementation considerations.
• Partner with engineering, cloud, infrastructure, IAM, application development, and business teams.
• Translate ambiguous technical problems into actionable decisions, ownership, and next steps.
• Drive assigned technical initiatives through resolution with limited supervision.

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated hands-on engineering and architecture experience in enterprise technology or security environments.
• Experience designing, engineering, implementing, or materially improving technical solutions.
• Strong understanding of cloud environments and cloud architecture .
• Practical understanding of AI technologies, AI-enabled applications, and their security implications .
• Ability to understand how applications, infrastructure, networks, APIs, and identity services interact.
• Experience evaluating technical designs and determining appropriate security controls.
• Working knowledge of application security, authentication, authorization, and API security.
• Ability to explain technical decisions, implementation tradeoffs, and outcomes.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and independent problem-solving skills.

This is an experienced engineering role, but a senior title or a specific number of years is not required. Demonstrated capability matters more than title.

What Will Separate You

We want someone who can take a complex technical problem and explain:

How is the system designed? → What is happening? → Where is the risk? → What needs to change? → Where should the control be implemented? → How do we get it done?

We will ask for real examples of systems you have engineered, architectures you have influenced, technical decisions you have made, and the outcomes you helped deliver.

Helpful, Not Required

• Application security and API security engineering
• IAM, OAuth/OIDC, Entra, Ping, or ForgeRock
• AI agents, Agentic AI, MCP, or AI security controls
• Cloud-native applications and distributed systems
• Network security engineering, segmentation, gateways, or WAF
• eCommerce or high-volume consumer platforms
• DevSecOps and CI/CD security
• Security technology evaluations and PoVs
• Jira and Confluence

Location and Engagement Requirements

• South Florida — onsite four days per week
• Long-term contract with potential contract-to-direct hire
• U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder; no sponsorship
• Ability to commit fully to the engagement and comply with client policies regarding outside employment
